The combination of three-dimensional antennas and chip carriers in MicroMID® technologies enables passive UHF RFID transponders with a high read range on metals and fluids.

RFID transponder for charge carriers, asset management und construction logistics

  • RFID applications in production and transport logistics demand high read ranges also in the vicinity of fluids and metals. Conventional foil-based RFID transponders (smart labels) are not suitable here.
  • Using MID technologies, three-dimensional directional antenna structures are implemented. At the same time, the RFID semiconductors are integrated as part of the antenna.
  • Through selection of suitable plastics, an operative range of –40°C to +85°C is possible. The cases are designed for protection classes from IP 64 to IP 69K, and offer various mounting options.
  • The passive UHF RFID transponders from HARTING thus achieve a read range of over 3m depending on structural shape.
